Joy, The Supervisor, is a rescue that Sherita brought with her from California. She earned her title by literally overseeing all the Barnyard Crew. She runs the homestead!
This handsome boy is Boots (Bootsy) the rooster. He's one of the favorites of our feathered girls, named after the famed Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Bootsy Collins, a former client.
General Ali has a look of dominance and will definitely protect the Barnyard, but he's also extremely playful and loving to the rest of the homestead crew.
The Barnyard is a project of the Philanthropy Alliance Foundation situated on nearly 30 acres in Hattieville, AR. Our founder, Sherita J. Herring, relocated to the Natural State in 2017 after spending 30 years in Los Angeles, CA. Easily adapting, she has enthusiastically revived her ancestral land, which had remained dormant since her great-grandfather's passing in 1975.
With a barnyard crew of over 40 chickens, ducks, a guinea, two cats, five dogs, and a handsome horse named Hickory, not to mention our comical goats, Serena and Simone, this country sanctuary has several campsites and hosts various events such as youth, family, and couple painting experiences, along with family reunions, while also offering a free-range petting zoo experience.
Before relocating from her Beverly Hills office, Sherita applied her expertise as a business strategist to advance her clients’ goals, successfully raising over $30 million for global projects in 14 countries. Previously coaching numerous celebrities, community leaders, and entrepreneurs, she will leverage this extensive experience to further Barnyard projects, including Youth Camps, Executive, Women’s and Artist Retreats, Wellness Forums, and more.
Meet our curious feathered girl, Ms. Kravitz, named after the famed nosy neighbor on the nostalgic television series, Bewitched, that aired from the mid 1960s to early 1970s. This inquisitive little lady is a comical joy for the Barnyard guests.
Meet Serena, the namesake of the Greatest Of All Time (G.O.A.T.), tennis star, Serena Williams.
Meet Hallie Kitty, named after the renowned Hallie Berry, based on her role as Cat Women in Batman.
Meet Simone, the namesake of the Greatest Of All Time (G.O.A.T.), gymnast, Simone Biles.

We are a nonprofit organization, operating under the fiscal sponsorship of the
Rufus C. and Leola Goff Family Foundation. At Philanthropy Alliance, we strive to bring people together and create a sense of belonging and connection thru our virtual and in-person workshops and trainings with local and international clients. This all happens while we also reconnect people to nature, as guests visit the Barnyard and interact with our menagerie of animals.
